📩 How will I receive my translation?

Translations are sent by email in PDF format. All you need to do is print the document. Don’t forget to check your spam folder! 😊

⏱️ When will I receive my translation?

Translations are generally sent within 24 to 48 hours. Our NAATI translators work every day of the week, including weekends (depending on source language).

📚 What is NAATI?

NAATI is the Australian body responsible for accrediting translators and interpreters. It plays a crucial role in maintaining high standards in the translation and interpretation industry, ensuring the quality and reliability of the services provided.

⚖️ Why are NAATI translations important?

NAATI‑certified translations are often required for official documents in Australia—such as birth and marriage certificates, university diplomas, legal and medical documents. They are essential for anyone who needs their documents officially recognized in legal, educational, or governmental contexts.

❓Why do I need to translate my driver’s license for Australia?

A NAATI‑certified translation is recognized throughout Australia and allows you to drive legally. Here’s why it’s indispensable:
Car rental: Most car hire agencies require a NAATI translation to accept a non‑English license.
Traffic stops: In case of a police check, a certified translation makes verification of your details much easier.
Administrative procedures: Some processes—like obtaining an Australian driver’s license—may require an official translation. Note: NSW no longer accepts NAATI translations for license transfers (you’ll need a Multicultural NSW translation).

🚙 Can I drive in Australia with my national license?

If not in English – No. To drive legally in Australia, you must carry your national license along with either an International Driving Permit or a NAATI translation. Some states only list the NAATI translation in their requirements (since the International Driving Permit is less recognized here). In certain states, if you intend to stay more than three months, you can convert your national license to an Australian one: visit a transport office, fill out a form, present your license and its translation, pay the fee, and wait one to two weeks. Again, NSW no longer accepts NAATI translations for license conversions.

📷 Do I need to attach a photo or sign my translation?

No, you do not need to add a photo or signature to your translation. Just have both the original document and the translation with you.

🇳🇿 Am I visiting both Australia and New Zealand—do I need separate translations?

Unfortunately, yes. The rules differ in each country, and a NAATI accreditation alone is not sufficient for New Zealand. If you plan to travel to both countries, select the NZTA option and we’ll provide a translation accepted in both places.

🏦 Are there bank fees for paying for my translation?

That depends on your bank and payment method. Please check with your bank.

⏲️ How long is a NAATI translation valid?

A NAATI translation remains valid for as long as your original license is valid.

❓What’s the difference between a NAATI translation and an International Driving Permit?

An International Driving Permit is an uncertified translation—often accepted but not official. A NAATI translation, on the other hand, is fully certified and officially recognized by Australian authorities.
